Since 2004 I have been breeding the best in Tennessee Walkers.  The bloodlines in my breeding program are proven lines from the Western bred Montana and Canadian tried and true trail and pack horses used in the rugged mountains to run cattle, work fields, and give a smooth consistent four-beat gait with no pace.  Hard work is bred into these horses and their work ethic cannot be beat.

The horses bred and raised at Applegait Valley Walkers are bred for extreme trail riding in mind.  Amber competes in AERC endurance riding.  To successfully compete gaited horses against the Arabians in this sport requires tough training.  In the Applegate Valley mountains we achieve just this type of rugged terrain to get us in the top ten finishers.

Applegait Valley Walkers are not ridden on groomed park ground trails, but rocky, narrow, steep high altitude trails with every kind of obstacle you can imagine finding on a trail.  These horses cannot balk as it could be disastrous to do so!  They are level-headed mountain trained athletes with a long history through generations of great work ethic in the mountains and prairies of Canada and Montana.  These horses are not from Big Lick show rings!

Conformation, disposition and gait are the hallmark of Applegait Valley Walkers.  After you have the best of those attributes then I added the icing on the cake of dazzling color. All of my breeding horses have been DNA tested at UC DAVIS to ensure the color genetics of their get.

Sabino, Champagne, Smoky Black, Buckskin, Palomino, Black, Chestnut and Sooty Bay are all possibilities with my stallions and my mares to give the best of the best in a foal for your future.   Color always is a second consideration to the correct conformation, disposition and gait at Applegait Valley Walkers.  Yes, we can have it all and we do!

Featured on this page is Shotgun's Baretta ("Betty"), a beautiful and correct sooty bay sabino out of La Nina, my smoky black broodmare.  And Firestorm's Chocolate Splash, a silver bay sabino, out of Ebs Sweet Rosalee, a black sabino broodmare.

These two fillies represent the essence of what we breed for at Applegait Valley Walkers.  Beautiful conformation, correct gait and pleasing disposition.  We love a pretty head on our get and Shotgun always puts the most gorgeous heads and ears you will find to top off the entire package.

Strong legs, big tough hooves, swan necks, sloping shoulders and rounded croups to set the stride and gait are just some of the things we breed for at Applegait Valley Walkers.

Our horses can go the distance as Amber competes in AERC endurance, or they can just take you down the trail for a pleasure ride.  If you want to show, these fine horses will put you in the blue.  Versatility is in their breeding!

This is a hands-on ranch.  All foals and adult horses are always handled and worked with.  I love each and every one of my equine family!
